Singers Christina Milian and The-Dream has reportedly struck a deal in their divorce settlement months after officially announcing their break-up.
Details of the settlement terms have not yet been revealed but reports are confirming that the deal was ink.
According to TMZ, pop star Christina Milian and super-producer The Dream are one step closer to being legally single — TMZ said the couple has hammered out a settlement in their pending divorce.
“Sources close to the soon-to-be exes tell us the terms of the settlement are extremely confidential — but lawyers are expected to submit the paperwork to a Fulton County, Georgia judge in the very near future. UPDATE: Christina’s attorney Randy Kessler tells TMZ, “Ms. Milian strongly believes that peaceful resolution is better for their child and that she is very pleased with the settlement and that it was accomplished out of court.” (TMZ)
Last July, Milian reportedly accused Dream of cheating on her, which got ugly over the summer. Despite The-Dream publicly announcing the end of their marriage, Milian insists it was quite the contrary and that the two even had “marital relations on numerous occasions” after the paperwork was filed. If the court does grant the divorce, Milian wants it to be for reasons other than that their marriage was “irretrievably broken,” instead claiming that The-Dream was cheating on her.
In her legal response, filed last week in Georgia, Milian admits that she signed an agreement with The-Dream that waived alimony or ownership rights to each other’s property. However, she maintains that she was in no state to sign such documents because they were brought to her when she was nine months pregnant.
Over the summer, Dream issued an open letter to fans addressing his separation.
“I take FULL RESPONSIBILITY for misleading everyone into thinking everything was fine and okay when we knew problems existed for awhile! I wanted to speak up but we decided it wasn’t for anyone to know. I would NEVER intentionally hurt a soul and everyone around me knows that! There was so much going on in me and Christina’s personal world that I tried to deal with it as delicately as I could and tried to regain my footing. Instead of being direct in order not to cause even more hurt or hurt someone’s feelings, I carried the weight in secret! I am Human and people fall in and out of Love all the time… This is Life. Nothing’s promised or perfect, neither am I. I am not proud that I lost something we once had…LOVE! I’ve always been a Loving Father, Hard Worker, Generous, Stern and Eager to prove myself. My faults are I can be irresponsible and an a*s sometimes, but I HAVE NEVER and WILL NEVER be a malicious person or wish harm to anyone, especially those I love or the mother of my child.”
