Makeda Marley, the youngest child of reggae king Bob Marley will spend seven years on probation after admitting she grew marijuana in her Philadelphia-area home.
Makeda was sentence on Monday after she chose the lesser of the two sentence offered to her. If not probation, Marley would spend 2 to 23 month stint in Chester County Prison.
Last month Urban Islandz told you that Makeda Jahnesta Marleypleaded guilty to drug charges stemming from a 2008 incident at her home.
Marley was arrested in 2008 after police say they found her removing plants from her basement when officers arrived on a domestic dispute call.
Marley’s probation calls for her to undergo random drug tests and stay away from illegal drug users. Her attorney tells the West Chester Daily Local News that won’t be a problem. Attorney Thomas Schindler called growing marijuana an “aberration” in Marley’s life.
If found in violation of her probation, Makeda could face with a longer prison sentence.
