T.I. says his new grandson will do to his son, King Harris, what King had done to him as a father.
The Atlanta rap legend welcomed his third grandchild this month after his 20-year-old son welcomed his first child, a baby boy, with his girlfriend, J’Nijah “Nana” Epps. Interestingly, King Harris has been beaming with pride about becoming a father as he regularly shared videos and photos of himself holding his baby in the middle of the night.
In one clip, King complained about having to wake up multiple times during the night to tend to his crying baby boy. He shared a clip on Instagram Story at 6 a.m. telling his followers that he was barely getting any sleep. T.I.’s response to that is welcome to the real world of being a parent to a newborn. While discussing his experience so far as a parent, King shared the hilarious and petty nickname that his baby’s grandfather gave him.
“Who knows, maybe y’all see little Jack Jack sooner or later,” King shared. “Pops [T.I.] call him ‘K2’ and ‘The World’s Greatest Gangsta.’”
T.I. first shared the nickname for his grandson in an interview earlier this year when he revealed that King Harris was soon to be a father. The Grand Hustle leader joked about his plans to raise his grandson to become the “greatest gangsta of all time” so that he could torture his son the way he was tortured as a father. “I will raise this child to torture you the way you tortured me,” TIP said in the interview on Hot 107.9 radio station. “I promise you there will be an indictment in this young one.”
T.I. said it jokingly, but you can tell he was serious. While he and King Harris have a close bond, their father-and-son relationship has been through many ups and downs over the years. Last year in November, the two got into a massive fight at the Mercedes-Benz stadium while attending an Atlanta Falcons game. A video of the incident went viral online as the younger Harris was heard yelling, “You know I stand on business.”
The two later worked out their differences despite King getting a public backlash for seemingly disrespecting his parents in a public setting. Now that he is a father himself, King perhaps will get a taste of what it’s like to have a rebellious child. At least, that is what his father is hoping.
