The big Snoop D.O. Double G (Snoop Dogg) and Migos are finally part of the family; The Adams Family that is.
The Addams Family as been around since 1964 as a TV series but they have decided to put a fresh spin on things with their upcoming animated movie. Even though the film has a killer cast, it is the soundtrack that has us bumping. The West Coast Rapper’s signature hit of the 2000s, “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” can be heard blasting in the background while Cousin Itt’s, gold Cadillac Eldorado pulls up to the Adams Family mansion.
The song was produced by the award-winning grammy duo of the Neptunes, who at the time featured Pharrel. Pharrel went on to provide some stellar vocals in the first verse and that infectious clicking sound you hear in the backing track. The song was featured on Snoop Dogg’s R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece album and was even nominated for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group at the 2005 staging of the Grammy Awards.
The success of the song spanned more just Billboard success, as the microwavable snacks giant, Hot Pockets called their “Pocket Like It’s Hot” campaign a success.
The reach of the song stemmed to Jamaica, with legendary dancer Mr. Wacky and used the Riddim track for his local hits, “All Dem De.”
It’s hard to deny just how good the song is and the viewers of the Adams family will be in for a treat. Listen to Snoop Dogg, Migos, Rock Mafia, and KAROL G’s “My Family” below.
