Bounty Killer put the Rasta community in Jamaica on notice.
The dancehall legend fired off a scathing statement blasting what he calls “vanity loving rastas in Jamaica.” Bounty Killer took timeout yesterday to laud Stefflon Don for her charitable work in Jamaica, where she spearheaded the refurbishment of the Haile Selassie High School in Payneland, Kingston. Like the rest of us, Killer was quite impressed by her dedication in lending a helping hand to make the school the best place of learning for children.
While praising Steff, Bounty Killer also questioned why the Rastafarian community is not doing more to help the school. “THE VANITY LOVING RASTA’S IN JAMAICA WHO ALL PRAISING SELASSIE I NAME AND LOVES TO BRAG ABOUT THEIR RICHES AND SHOW OFF ON THE POOR PPL THEM SELASSIE GAVE US A SHOOL [sic] TO UPLIFT AND EDUCATE THE YOUTHS AND NOT EVEN LITTLE MAINTENANCE FROM THE RASTA COMMUNITY UNUH A WICKED BOUT YA!” Killer wrote.
Stefflon Don left a comment on Bounty Killer’s post thanking him for the support. “Big up! If we all come together we can do so much more! And thank you for sharing this. I hope to see you next time I’m there,” she wrote.
One fan singled out Jah Cure, and Bounty Killer made it clear that he wasn’t speaking about any one particular Rastafarian. “This goes way beyond any one person bredda situation existed long b4 there was a artiste name @therealjahcure jah cure a my friend and if elder Rasta’s was setting certain examples more younger ones would follow u cyaah blame the yutes for tradition!” he wrote.
