Chris Brown says his album Heartbreak On A Full Moon deserves a Grammy.
Chris Brown has one Grammy Award and sixteen nominations, but he believes he should’ve gotten more, at least one more for his last album Heartbreak On A Full Moon. The R&B singer took to his Instagram page on Thursday to vent a little and hate him or love him his double-disc album was a masterpiece. You can always expect good music from Breezy so why doesn’t he have more Grammys than just one.
The Grammys is always a point of contention for many artists who put their blood sweat and tears into their craft. For decades, both big and small artists released great bodies of work for which they believed they should’ve gotten a Grammy award for but didn’t. Just this year alone, JAY-Z was completely shut out of the Grammys despite dropping, arguably one of the best rap albums last year 4:44.
“THIS Album DESERVES A GRAMMY WETHER U LIKE ME PERSONALLY OR NOT… PERIOD!!!!!!” Brown wrote while sharing the cover art for the album Heartbreak On A Full Moon on the Gram.
Chris Brown won his first and only Grammy in 2011 for Best R&B Album for his groundbreaking album F.A.M.E. which was also nominated in other categories. The “Loyal” singer has received fifteen other nominations throughout his decade-long career but didn’t pick up anymore win, so perhaps he is feeling a bit disgruntled, and you can’t blame. Countless other artists feel the same way and will continue to feel the same way.
This is certainly not the first time that Chris Brown has sound off about the Grammys. Two years ago he went on a social media rant about not winning more trophies for his craft. Reggae/dancehall artists have been complaining about this for years, so hopefully, some things will change in the Recording Academy in the near future or else artists will more and more resent the Grammys.
