Exactly a year after his release from prison, Gucci Mane drops his new album DropTopWop. There are a lot of fanfare surrounding the project and a lot of it has to do with Gucci marking a year since his release from prison on May 26, 2016. The album is a collaborative effort with Atlanta producer Metro Boomin. Among the artists tapped for a guest spot includes a host of big names in the ATL rap scene like Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, and Migos’ Offset.
The project comes with 10 new tracks and both Gucci Mane and Metro Boomin are already getting ready for their fees to increase substantially after the project drops. “I charge 50 a verse but after #Droptopwop come out I want a quarter million,” Guwop tweeted, while the producer added, “And I charge 40 a beat but after #droptopwop I want 100.” Gucci Mane is also getting ready to release his biopic Autobiography of Gucci Mane, due on September 19 this year. He is also shooting a movie with Rick Ross for which more details is forthcoming.
