Pleasure P says his pen was at least partly responsible for the massive success of Lil Wayne’s classic “Lollipop.”

The former Pretty Ricky member shared a video over the weekend demanding recognition for his contribution to the single, claiming he wrote the song with the late Static Major. According to Pleasure P, “Lollipop” has generated $28 million in royalties over the years, and he is owed a share of that loot without specifying how much.

“I wrote that. Rex Zamor, Tez, Wayne, Mack Maine,” Pleasure said in the video. Rex Zamor is one of the co-writers of the song, and Tez, real name Cortez Bryant, is Lil Wayne’s longtime manager. “I need my f—ing plaque for this song, bro. Jim Jonsin, y’all can do something about this sh–. But nobody care about me no more. Rex got my publishing, and he got his name on this record. And I can’t get my just due. Before my first album came out, I wrote this song with Static.”

Pleasure P added while “Lollipop” played in the background in his car, “My son just got out of jail. I ain’t got time for this sh– no more, bro. Just give me what I deserve. I wrote this. I’m a part of [Lil Wayne’s] biggest record, 1.3 million the first week. And I haven’t been able to celebrate that.”

This is not the first time that Pleasure P is making claims he co-wrote the song. In 2023, he shared that he wrote elements of the song that were used in the final version and never got credit for it. Lil Wayne nor the other names he mentioned in his rant have yet to respond to his claims. Pleasure has also not indicated whether or not he will take legal actions for his share of the song.

In the meantime, Lil Wayne has indicated that he and Kendrick Lamar dead their beef recently and he supports the Compton rapper’s upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show performance in his hometown, New Orleans.
