Safaree Samuels shared video footage of his ex-wife Erica Mena attacking him and trashing his house in the presence of their children.
The former Love and Hip Hop stars have been engaged in an ongoing dispute in courts and on social media following their messy divorce. Safaree is reportedly asking a judge to reduce his child support payments because his income has changed significantly since the original $4,305 monthly child support he agreed to pay. He argues that one of the reasons for his income decline is because Erica Mena made serious allegations against him on social media.
In his court filing, Safaree says, “[Erica] for nearly six (6) consecutive months has made public posts on her social media platform to her over six (6) million followers referring to [Safaree] as a ‘deadbeat’ and attacking his parenting skills without reason.” He also stated that his ex-wife harassed his co-workers and made several unfounded allegations against him towards them, which affected his working relationships.
Safaree is now fighting back against Mena’s disparaging comments about him being a deadbeat father to their two children. On Wednesday (October 16), the Jamaican rapper/reality TV star shared a video on his YouTube channel of several encounters he had with Erica. In one of the clips, you can see Mena using a ladder to scale the gate at Safaree’s house. In another clip, she pushed him in front of their two kids before smashing some items in his home.
“I love my kids and it’s gotten to the point that I have to put myself first,” Samuels said. “Because I’m either gonna end up in jail or worse because I’m dealing with someone who’s anger management is nonexistent.”
Safaree admitted that he is shouldering some of the blame for what has been playing out in public and what happened behind closed doors because he was aware of Erica Mena’s anger and ignored it. “When you have children with someone. I should have just noticed certain things when it came to parenting,” he admitted.
“Am pretty good at just brushing things off but people who know me, especially who know my situation, they are like ‘yow how long are you gonna stay quiet?'” he said. “I be sparring people, but at the same time its nobody’s business but I feel like everybody just feel like they know my business. If it’s reported it’s news and it’s the truth and it’s real but am pretty sure they are some men out there who can relate to this.”
Erica Mena has since responded to the videos Safaree released by threatening to release her own videos of him asking her to get back together. “Explain why I was so enraged because how you violated my body,” she wrote. “I wanted answers. You have been gaslighting – violating me and leaving for dead on such much when it comes to the kids. All your receipts are from 2023 mines are from 2024. Do you really want me to post you begging for me back just this past May on your knees in front of our kids?”
