DJ Akademiks has been banned from Twitch following a debacle with Adin Ross and embattled social media star Gucci Third Leg.
The hip-hop pundit/podcaster was one of the most popular streamers on Twitch, but judging from what happened to Adin Ross, no one is immune to being banned from the platform. Although often controversial, DJ Akademiks attracts a lot of viewers to his streams including those who are critics and those who are fans of his. He also often has some celebrities join his streams.
On Monday night, Big AK got on stream on Twitch with Gucci Third Leg, an OnlyFans creator who has been accused of transmitting an STD to multiple people. Gucci caught a lot of heat on social media last weekend over the allegations, which other creators, including Danae Davis, have also called him out. Akademiks was trying to get to the bottom of the allegations with Davis on his Stream earlier this week, where he also brought Gucci on to discuss the matter.
Adin Ross also joined DJ Akademiks’ stream, which now raised some questions about what really got him banned from Twitch. Ross is one of the top streamers to have been banned from Twitch and the platform has a policy that if other streamers have someone who has been banned on their stream, it could result in their account being banned. Perhaps it’s not the OnlyFans star’s appearance that got AK banned, but his stream with Adin Ross. There is no conclusive detail available about why he has been blocked from the streaming platform.
DJ Akademiks has since reacted to the ban with a light hearted post on X saying, “Free Big AK.” Sources told Urban Islandz that this is AK fourth time being banned from Twitch.
How will this affect DJ Akademiks? Maybe not much since in this era there are multiple streaming platforms available for Livestream such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. As to how it will affect his bottom line, there is no telling. However, DJ Akademiks, who is of Jamaican descent, remains one of the most popular streamers in that space.
