50 Cent says he has no interest in dropping his lawsuit against a New York jeweler who asks him to reconsider the case.
50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, filed a lawsuit against Maksud Agadjani and his company, TraxNYC, for using his name and likeness to sell merchandise without getting his permission. TMZ reported that the G-Unit rapper says that posts made by Agadjani on social media displaying his merchandise are misleading consumers into thinking that he is associated with the jeweler in any way.
Agadjani previously showcased a cross pendant on Instagram that 50 Cent says closely resembles a custom piece that he owns. The jeweler reportedly used a photo of Fifty wearing said chain to promote his piece. “50, thank you for the inspiration,” he said while thinking that Fif wouldn’t mind. “You’re a true gentleman. I’m sure you won’t mind.”
It turns out that 50 Cent did mind the jeweler using his name and likeness to sell goods and promptly filed a lawsuit seeking an undisclosed amount for his troubles. The jeweler shared a video asking the rap titan to reconsider the suit but so far the rapper isn’t budging. Fif even warned him in the comment section of his post before filing the suit. “The cross is meant for forgiveness, redemption, forgiveness of sins,” Agadjani explained in the clip. “Forgive, forget. Let it go, brother.”
“Let me think about it,” 50 Cent wrote while re-sharing the clip. “Nah you tried to play with me ! You know the vibes by Monday.”
50 Cent is notorious for suing people who use his name and likeness for commercial purposes without his consent. The rapper turn TV mogul learned his lessons from other people suing him for various issues including Rick Ross’ baby mother, who sued him for leaking an explicit video of her. That case cost Fif millions of dollars in legal fees and a near bankruptcy. So don’t expect him to drop the case without getting some dough for his troubles.
