Dave East Chronicles His Time With Popcaan In Jamaica In “Unruly” Video

Dave East and Popcaan teamed up for “Unruly” and brand new visuals.

Only a short few weeks ago, Dave East was spotted in Jamaica with the Unruly Boss himself, Popcaan. It looks like the rapper and dancehall star did not waste any time and managed to hop into the studio and put a record together. The duo released their new single “Unruly” today (Oct. 23) with a new music video. The visuals that are currently trending on YouTube were shot in Kingston, Jamaica from the moment Dave East arrived at the Norman Manley International Airport. The video is filled with authentic islandic scenery from the vast blue sea to the landscape and large rocks.

While Popcaan sings the chorus and the final verse, Dave East raps in the first two verses of the song, where he gives a nod to veteran reggae and dancehall icons like Peter Tosh, Supa Cat, Vybz Kartel, Buju Banton, and more. Some night scenes were also shot in Tivoli Gardens, which is only fitting seeing as East also mentions the infamous and internationally known area leader Christopher “Dudus” Coke in the song.

The video features cameos by the Unruly posse, including Quada, Dre Island, and producer Dane Ray who Popcaan shouts out in the intro. “Unruly” is one of the tracks off Dave East’s new album Karma 3, which is available now.
