Popcaan and Davido link up in his new video, “Risky.”
The single will appear on the Nigerian afrobeat singer’s upcoming album, A Good Time, due on November 22. The project will feature other singles like “Assurance,” “Flora My Flawa,” “Fall,” “Blow My Mind,” and more. Aside from dancehall heavyweight Popcaan, Young Thug and Rae Sremmurd will also make a guest appearance on the single “Pere.” The single “Risky” was produced by Speroach Beatz, who has worked with Davido on past hits.
The Meji Alabi-directed music video was shot in London and featured Popcaan and his crew pulling up on Davido sitting inside a restaurant with his crew. It appears that the two stars are beefing over a beautiful female living in a high rise apartment building.
“Been a very long time girl / Me still a wait for your whine / Body curve clean and cute see your nipple a blow my mind / Me giving you my money anywhere anytime,” Popcaan sings. The Unruly Boss is one of the most sought after dancehall artistes to do collaborations with international artistes. He has in the past worked with the likes of Gorillaz, Drake, Pusha T, Wale, Jamie xx, Matoma, and British rapper Giggs.
Popcaan remains one of the leading dancehall artistes in the genre currently, thanks to a consistent supply of new music including a recent album, Forever. Watch the video below.
