Queen Ifrica is gearing up to bring the Cockpit Country anti-mining campaign physically closer to Jamaica’s Parliament.

The “Below The Waist” deejay, says she will be stepping into the National Heroes Circle tomorrow morning in support of residents from the Trelawny communities located within the Cockpit Country, who have now decided to they take their protest to Kingston city, Jamaica’s capital.

“The Cockpit Country issue even become more serious right now. We sat in a meeting yesterday (Friday) myself and Tony Rebel. Bounty was invited as well but he was not available to attend,” Ifrica said in a video post on Instagram.

“We were invited by JET (Jamaica Environment Trust) to come down to Trelawny to meet with the environmentalists on the ground and also stakeholders and all the people who have interest in the Cockpit Country. And trust mi, it was the most shocking experience in the sense of the testimonials of people who lost not only one, but more than five family members to cancer caused by mining. So based on that we are taking it more serious now,” she explained.

She also encouraged her followers in a written post, to come out to participate in the protest which begins at 9:00 am.

“It’s not talking now is doing so we will be there to lend our support on behalf of our countries well being. Now is the time to act if ten thousand or ten of us stand in one voice for our children’s future we would being counted,” she wrote.

“Bring yu family vlogers and Bloggers and even the internet Troll Army please support Because the dying of the Cockpit Country Affects Us All,” she added. Queen Ifrica also tagged Bounty Killer, Spragga Benz, Tony Rebel and, interestingly, Mr. Vegas in the post.

Last week Vegas while speaking to music producer Skatta Burrell in a live Instagram feed, had made fun of Queen Ifrica, her partner Tony Rebel and Bounty Killer after three attended a meeting at Jamaica House with Prime Minister Andrew Holness, regarding the Cockpit Country.

Vegas had laughed at the artistes claiming they had yielded to the manipulations of the Prime Minister as they had become strangely silent on the Cockpit issue after the meeting, even though prior to that they were among the most vocal advocates for mining to be banned in the protected area.

“Prime Minista just sen fi dem and hug dem up ina some photo and it’s all good,” Vegas said at the time, as he and Skatta burst out in laughter. “Yow, di boss jus sen fi dem an go so: and put him arm roun dem neck and two smile and dem just calm dung…Yow, yo nat even see one more video a circulate bout Cockpit Country.”
