American pop star Miley Cyrus and actor husband, Liam Hemsworth have separated. The couple was married for less than a year.
All signs are pointing towards divorce for the former couple who had had a rocky relationship even before they rekindled their relationship and got married last year. Hemsworth has since posted a message on his Instagram account confirming their breakup and also denying that he spoke with any tabloid about it.
“Hi all Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” the actor wrote. “This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.”
People reported that the two have yet to share the news publicly. A rep for Miley Cyrus confirmed that “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” they said, “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus started dating back in 2009 while filming the movie, ‘The Last Song.’ Cyrus and the Hunger Games star have had a long road from their rumored engagement to their breakup to their second engagement and finally getting married last December.
Breakup rumors about the ex-couple started swirling just this July, but we thought Miley had dispelled the rumors when she shared a loving message to Liam on Instagram for their anniversary. “Happy 10 year anniversary my love. Good to see everyone is as dumb as they were in 2009! Some things never change … & I hope the way you feel about me is one of them. Yours truly,” the singer captioned a photo of a news story about their rumored split.
The timing of this statement has some fans believing that the separation rumors were true all along and that Miley and Liam or either just wasn’t making it public. Now that they have, it’s a sign that they’ve both accepted that this is their new reality; but some fans who have adored the couple for a decade find it more difficult to do so.
