G-Eazy Supports A$AP Rocky, Says Sweden Treats White Rappers Different From Blacks

G-Eazy gave A$AP Rocky case a huge support against the backdrop of an argument about racism.

It turns out that Sweden is notorious for treating white rappers much different from they treat black rappers. A$AP Rocky has been before bars in Sweden for two weeks without being charged or even a court hearing. The arrest and lengthy detainment sparked widespread outcry that has since spilled over into the White House with President Trump promising to contact his counterpart in that country to have the situation resolved.

According to TMZ, about a year ago, white rapper G-Eazy was arrested in Stockholm, Sweden for allegedly punching a security guard in a club while high on drugs. The Eazy reportedly snort coke using a $100 bill. He was subsequently arrested and charged with assault, possession of drugs, and use of narcotics.

One key difference between A$AP Rocky’s case and G-Eazy’s is that there was no video footage of the incident. However, the prosecutor allowed him to cut a deal where he pled guilty to violent resistance and illegal drug possession. His sentence was a $10k fine and probation. Rocky is now facing up to six years in prison if he is indicted and convicted of assault following a street brawl he was involved in where he was not the aggressor.

G-Eazy fully supports the claims in a message posted on his IG. “This is the sad truth…The difference between me and Rocky’s treatment and process in Sweden brings to mind two concepts that disgustingly go hand in hand: white privilege and systemic racism,” he wrote. “Let’s call it what it is. He should not be behind bars right now. My heart goes out to my brother @asaprocky and his team. We’re riding for yall. #JusticeForRocky #FreeRocky.”

Jada Pinkett Smith has also weighed in on the issue. Here is what she tweeted.
