Nicki Minaj Gets Put On Blast For Comparing Jamaica To Saudi Arabia Human Rights

Nicki Minaj MEGATRON

Nicki Minaj us getting some heat from Jamaicans.

The Queen rapper is getting hammered on social media for saying that cops in Jamaica previously pulled guns on her after she performed and used a couple of expletives. Nicki Minaj was voicing her support for the #FreeASAP movement where fans and celebrities are calling for Swedish authorities to free rapper ASAP Rocky from police custody. The Harlem rapper was arrested last week for his alleged involvement in a street brawl. He is now facing up to six years in prison if convicted for the crime.

In the same breath, the “Megatron” rapper is comparing Jamaica to Saudi Arabia’s human rights where women are notoriously treated as second class citizens. Nicki Minaj bends under severe pressure from fans to pull the plug on her upcoming show in Saudi Arabia. Millions of folks voiced their objections to the planned performance, which resulted in her having to cancel the concert and thus losing out on potentially millions of dollars.

“I performed in Jamaica before & when I got off the stage I was surrounded by police with guns drawn. They were ready 2 take me to jail b/c they said I forgot to bleep a couple curses…. I could make one mistake & go to jail in a diff country where women have no rights. #FreeAsap,” Nicki tweeted.

That statement has not gone down well with Jamaicans who are hammering the Trinidadian rapper on social media. Nicki Minaj performed at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay, Jamaica in 2011 and was fined US$10 for using expletives on stage.

“When you perform as an artist in Jamaica and cursed certain words you pay a small fee that’s the law ! Police in jamaica and Trinidad guns are always out since they carry assault rifles ! Don’t make it seem like anything else thank you,” one of her followers wrote.

“As a Jamaican woman I would love for you to explain how we have no rights here?” another fan wrote.
