Masicka Appeared On Fox5 New York Talks Dancehall, Vybz Kartel & Bob Marley

Masicka made an appearance on Fox5 New York this morning for his U.S. television interview.

A few weeks after Alkaline performed live on Fox5 New York, Masicka stepped on the big stage where he made his first ever live television interview in the United States. The Genahsyde deejay spoke about dancehall music locally and in the States, as well as, how artists like Vybz Kartel and Bob Marley influenced his career.

“In Jamaica the music is definitely more of a traditional thing like if you grew up in a community like Kingston, am from Portmore, so all of us would’ve come on the block and play music and listen to music,” Masicka said. “Music is something that born in us and it’s a huge part of my living… The communities in Jamaica has a strong love for music.”

Masicka also pays homage to the late reggae king Bob Marley for paving the way not just for roots reggae artists, but also hardcore dancehall acts. “Bob Marley has bridged the gap for us dancehall artists to come and even venture outside of Jamaica so big up Bob Marley always, one love,” the deejay added.
