Meek Mill and Miguel performed their new track “Stay Woke” at the 2018 BET Awards.
Meek Mill takes the stage at Sunday night’s BET Awards to perform his new single “Stay Woke” featuring Miguel. Philadelphia’s own Lil Uzi Vert, Kevin Hart, Questlove, and Black Thought introduced the MMG rapper before he walked onto the stage wearing a hoodie with XXXTentacion’s face on the front of it and Jimmy Wopo on the back. Both rappers were gunned down on the same day last week Monday in separate incidents.
“Stay Woke” is Meek Mill’s first single since the end of his incarceration in April of this year. The Philly rapper is currently out on bail and is still fighting to fully clear his name after it was revealed that a corrupt police officer arrested him a decade ago.
Since his released from prison, Meek has been on a justice reform campaign, and last weekend he held a rally in Philly with thousands of fans turning up to support his cause. This performance at the BET Awards reflects the same theme.
