Munga Murder Case Hearing Set For May 29

Munga Honorable returned to court last week Thursday for his murder case.

Initial reports suggest that the deejay had a hearing in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court for his ongoing murder case but his attorney, Christopher Townsend, says the hearing was for his co-accused who applied for bail. “The matter was heard, but it was not about my client,” Townsend said. “It was about his co-accused, who was seeking a bail application.”

Munga Honorable, whose real name is Damian Rhoden, was charged with the murder of Cleveland Smith, who cops say was shot and killed on February 12, 2017. According to the police report, Smith was shot during an altercation with a group of men in the Queenborough, St Andrew area. One of the men, who was armed with a gun, shot Smith. He was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital where he died.

Police are now saying that the shooter is Munga, who Smith attacked and chopped two years before his murder. The dancehall deejay has denied having any involvement in the murder. If convicted, he is facing life in prison, the same fate that Vybz Kartel and Ninja Man received for their murder case.

Munga is currently out on a $500,000 bond.
