Alkaline stays ahead of Vybz Kartel on YouTube with his Vevo channel reaching a milestone 500,000 subscribers.
The two rival deejays fans have been battling each other on the airwaves and on social media over which one of them is currently the leading act in dancehall. In comparison Kartel currently has 364,000 subscribers on his Vevo channel. Sean Paul is currently the leading dancehall artists on YouTube with 700,000+ subscribers. Shaggy has just over 500,000 fans and Spice has slightly more than Vybz Kartel coming in at 384,000. Those round out the top five.
Vendetta and Gazanation fans are the rival factions in this bunch and will surely reference this piece of news during their heated debate on which artist is currently leading. So far it seems like Alkaline is winning on YouTube, but who is winning on the airwaves? This month alone, Vybz Kartel released six new singles, as well as a new music video and so far all of them, are hit-worthy.
In February this year, Vybz Kartel bagged five Youth View Awards while Alkaline walked away with three prompting some Vendetta fans to call out the YVA on social media. Gaza fans were happy with the results at that time and labeled Alkaline fans as sore losers.
