Drake and Future are facing a giant lawsuit by a woman who claimed that she was raped while attending one of their concerts last year.
Drizzy and the Freebandz emcee had one of the biggest tours last year, their joint Summer Sixteen tour of North America. Despite the tour’s massive success, it seems someone is not allowing them to collect their money and go on their way. People reported that a woman filed a $25 million lawsuit against both Drake and Future claiming that a man associated with the venue raped her at their concert at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, on August 14 last year.
The female is identified in the lawsuit as Jane Doe to protect her identity. She claimed in her lawsuit that she was approached by a man who is associated with the venue. She said that the man, identified as Leavy Johnson, told her that he could take her backstage to meet Drake and Future. Instead of taking her backstage as promised, she said that Johnson violently attacked her causing serious bodily and psychological harm. Johnson has since been arrested and charged with rape and is now awaiting trial.
The unidentified female said in her suit that all parties involved including Drake, Future, the venue and others should have done their due diligence in employing Johnson, who had outstanding warrants for assault at the time of the incident. She claimed that Johnson presents a serious danger to the general public and that the assault could have been prevented. She wants $25 million for her troubles, while Johnson is currently behind bars awaiting trial for rape.
Drake and Future have yet to respond to the lawsuit, but last year they had one of the highest grossing tours with the Summer Sixteen tour grossing $84.3 million. She also wants them to pay for her court costs.
