Safaree Samuels stopped by the Wendy Williams show today where he revealed how Nicki Minaj and her team tried to stop the interview.
The Love and Hip Hop Hollywood star was very candid in the interview discussing why he and Nicki Minaj broke up and saying that he still want to be paid for all the work that he did for her career for their split. “[Nicki] doesn’t sit there and do absolutely nothing, but I definitely was a helping force in everything that had to do with creating music,” Safaree said. “It’s not like I was just a waste man.”
The pair dated for 12 years before their split back in 2015. According to Safaree, Meek Mill was a big part of the reason why they broke up. He said that the problem started about a month and a half before he moved out. “The last album, whether people know or not, I was a part of the creative process up until the last month-and-a-half of it,” he reveals. “In the last month, that’s when we were going through all the songs and I found out that there was two songs with him on the album…I had an instinct. I had the intuition that there was more to it.”
It sounds like Nicki Minaj was creeping with Meek Mill behind Safaree’s back and he found out only when he saw the songs that she recorded with him. But if he was the producer of the album, how did he not know that she was recording music with Meek Mill.
As to how Nicki Minaj tried to stop the interview from happening, Safaree Samuels didn’t divulge much details, but Remy Ma made the same claim on Wendy Williams show last week when she appeared with Fat Joe to promote their Plato O Plamo album.
Remy Ma also rapped about Nicki Minaj wouldn’t be as big as she is without Safaree Samuels help.
