Bobby Shmurda Could Received Reduced Sentence With New Plea Deal

Bobby Shmurda could see his 7-year prison sentence shortened if he accepts a new plea deal.

The New York rapper is current serving a 7-year sentence after taking a plea deal in his weapons and drugs case. But now that sentence could be slightly less if he accepts another plea deal in a separate case, Billboard reported. This charge is unrelated to his previous charges of 4th-degree conspiracy to criminally possess a weapon and 2nd-degree criminal weapons possession.

This case stemmed from an indictment in Bronx last year for promoting prison contraband after his girlfriend was caught giving him a metal object during one of her visits while he was being held at Rikers Island. The case was treated separately and is now being brought before the court.

In a court hearing on Wednesday, prosecutors offered the rapper a plea deal that would carry a sentence of 1 to 4 years in prison and would run concurrently to his current sentence. The charge would also be lesson to attempted promoting prison contraband.

Back in October, a judge sentenced Bobby Shmurda to seven years in prison after he accepted a plea deal in September. At his sentencing hear, he tried to back out of the deal, telling the judge that his lawyer forced him to take the deal which he didn’t want. He has yet to accept this deal and something tells us he is doing his due diligence.
