Shaggy is taking over the summer with Jovi Rockwell with their new video “I Got You.”
The Jaakko Manninen-directed video saw Shaggy assembling some female dancers showcasing their skills in front a colorful back drop. The animated and fun clip also saw the banging reggae/dancehall diva getting close to the multi-platinum selling deejay.
The single “I Got You” samples James Brown’s 1965 hit of the same name.
“I’m still amazed at how the universe works,” Shaggy told Billboard. “This was a guy who somehow took a liking to me. Everyone around him had to call him Mr. Brown, but I could call him ‘The Godfather’ or ‘The Showstopper.’”
Shaggy is one of the most commercially successful reggae/dancehall artists in history with over 20 million albums sold worldwide.
