Vybz Kartel is gearing up to drop his new album “King of the Dancehall” sometime in June.
According to the producer behind the project, Linton Tj White, there will only be new unreleased singles on the album. The incarcerated deejay’s previous body of work including his 2015 VIKING: Vybz is King, all comprised of previously released singles.
The producer also said that the 14-track project embodies the very essence of Adidja Palmer and the hardcore dancehall experience.
“The album will bring its listeners into the world of hardcore Dancehall,” he said.
The album ‘King of the Dancehall’ is the followup to VIKING which was released last year. That album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart.
Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, is currently gearing up for another legal showdown in the Jamaican court system after filing an appeal to overturn his murder conviction.
The dancehall hitmaker is currently serving a life sentence.
