The founder of rap group ASAP Mob, ASAP Yams, is dead.
News of his death started to circulate early this morning with prominent members of the group confirming his passing.
“RIP @ASAPYams,” the official Twitter accound for ASAP Mob tweeted out at 8:14 AM on Sunday.

Details surrounding his death is not yet known but sources told Urban Islandz he passed away in a hospital.
A$AP Rocky also confirmed his death via Instagram when he posted a photo of A$AP Yams. Rocky captioned the photo, “R.I.P YAMS, I LOVE YOU BROTHER.”

A$AP Ferg also confirmed Yams’ death via Instagram when he posted a photo of them performing live.
“You were the brilliant mind ,you put us on Game , you changed our lives. You changed my life , you changed the world,” he wrote on Instagram. “R.i.P YAMZ there can never be another one after you.”

Several other celebrities including Drake, Mac Miller, and Azealia Banks have tweeted about A$AP Yams’ death.

A$AP Yams, whose real name is Steven Rogriguez, founded A$AP Mob in 2007 along with A$AP Illz and A$AP Bari.
The Harlem emcee then met A$AP Rocky in 2008 when he joined the group.
