Reggae icon Luciano has cancelled his upcoming appearance in Africa fearing the deadly Ebola virus.
The Jamaican government recently released a statement advising reggae artists not to perform in the regions of Africa where the deadly Ebola virus is running rampant.
“Entertainers and others who plan to travel to the affected areas of West Africa should reconsider as they would potentially be putting themselves at risk of contracting the Ebola virus and spreading it to other persons on their return to Jamaica,” Health Minister, Dr Ferguson, said. “The ministry continues to warn against non-essential travel to reduce the risk to their health and the health of their families.”
Luciano had an upcoming show in Malawi on October 19, but has since pulled the plug on his appearance fearing he could bring back the Ebola virus to Jamaica.
