Known for songs such ‘Baddest’, ‘Go Hard & Done’ and ‘No Big Deal’ Dancehall artiste Masicka earlier this year released a pair of singles titled ‘Karma’ and ‘Why Me Work’ that have found their way onto the airwaves in the United Kingdom.
The songs have been added to the playlist of the very popular London based Flames Radio [click to visit their website] and continues to enjoy regular rotation. The increased attention has also garnered the Portmore deejay an interview with ace U.K. jock DJ White Wine, who lauded Masicka for his song-writing talent and lyrical skillset in the almost 18 minutes-long feature. Gearing up for a concert in Cayman in the coming weeks, Masicka has also released the official video for the conscious composition ‘Why Me A Work’ produced by Switzerland based label Hemp Higher Productions in collaboration with One Motion Music. The single is a noticeably segue from his usual fast rhyming style and speaks to the struggles of the poor and underachievers of society.
Hemp Higher Productions and One Motion Music is also responsible for Karma. a song which reaffirms the popular belief that ‘what goes around comes around’ as the deejay places himself in various everyday life situation and their sometimes unfortunate outcome.
Backing vocals on the track came courtesy of European singer Randy Valentine on a heavy Hip-Hop and Reggae influenced beat composed, mixed and produced by Riga Of Hemp Higher Production.
Masicka is expected to release a number of singles in the weeks ahead for several of Jamaica’s top producers including Don Corleone, Equinoxx Music, Markus Myrie and JA Productions among others.
