Snoop Lion love for Marijuana is deeper than you can imagine. But the rapper turned reggae artist got some backlash last year when photos of him and his son smoking weed surfaced online.
But the West Coast hip-hop icon has a logical explanation for that.
Speaking with GQ Magazine for their January 2013 issue, Snoop Lion opens up about his affection for the drug, as well as, his kids consuming ganja.
“It’s not that I would ever push weed on our kids,” Snoop said. “But if they wanted to, I would love to show them how, the right way, so that way they won’t get nothing put in their sh-t or overdose or trying some sh-t that ain’t clean.”
Snoop Lion says he smoke up to 80 spliffs per day.
Snoop Lion upcoming reggae debut album Reincarnated is due later this year. The “Lighters Up” singjay also reflect on his new cleaner lyrics, which is a striking opposite to his classic hardcore rap joints.
“As you become a man, you start having kids and living,” Snoop Lion told GQ. “You put the guns away, and your music becomes Hey, I’m with my kid and I’m living now… as opposed to F**k that—I’ll shoot you on sight. …If I focus on death, it’s going to come closer than what it’s supposed to be. You’ll become it.”
Snoop Lion launched his new documentary Reincarnation last year, which traces his spiritual journey into Rastafarianism during a visit to Jamaica.
