Lauryn Hill mugshot after arrest in June.
Just two months after pleading guilty to three counts of tax evasion charges, Lauryn Hill mugshot has surfaced online.
The former Fugee lead singer is facing three years in prison after admitting that she failed to file tax returns from 2005 to 2007, during which she made $1.8 million.
The eight-time Grammy winning singer is currently out on a $150,000 bail. Her sentencing hearing is schedule for November 27.
Days after pleading guilty to the charges, Lauryn Hill released a statement via her tumblr explaining her reasons for not filing her taxes.
According to Hill, she failed to pay her taxes during that time because of her withdrawal from society to ensure the safety of herself and her family. The multi-platinum selling singer/rapper says she rejected pop culture’s “climate of hostility, false entitlement, manipulation, racial prejudice, sexism and ageism.”
