Pulmonary Embolism Is Heavy D’s Cause Of Death

Almost two months after the death of Jamaican born rap legend Heavy D, new reports revealed the real cause of his untimely passing.

According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, the “Nuttin But Love” rapper suffered from a pulmonary embolism caused by deep leg vein thrombosis.

TMZ, who obtained the report, explains that a pulmonary embolism is a blockage of one or more arteries in the lungs, often caused by blood clots which enter from other parts of the body.

Heavy D reportedly had a blood clot in his leg. Heavy also suffered from Heart disease, which may be a contributing cause of his death.

Craig Harvey, the Coroner’s office spokesman, said that weight and an international flight were contributing factors in the rapper’s death. Days earlier, he flew back to Los Angeles after performing at the Michael Jackson tribute concert in Wales.

The Coroner’s Office classified Heavy’s death as “natural.”

Heavy D died outside his Beverly Hills home on November 9, 2011.

He was 44 years old at the time of his death.
