Longtime friend of dancehall deejay Ninja and promoter of Sting, Isiah Laing, will be hosting a benefit concert for the incarcerated deejay on Saturday, June 25th at Jamworld in Portmore.
According to Laing, Ninjaman want to reach out to his fellow comrades in the music industry for assistance through his trial.
“Ninjaman is a very kind-hearted person. He would have been the first one to spearhead a cause of this nature.”
Laing said he has already secure the support of several personality in the industry and fans are beginning to reach out to the deejay. Artists billed to perform include Freddie McGregor and the Big Ship Family, Junior Reid and the One Blood Family, Josie Wales, Khago, Macka Diamond, Spice, Lisa Hyper, Merciless, KipRich, Mr G, Nesbeth, Major Mackerel, Blaze and more.
Ninjaman, his son and two others have been charged with murder, conspiracy to murder, shooting with intent and illegal possession of a firearm in connection with the death of a 20 yr old man in March 2009. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday June 27.
The concert will seek to assist the incarcerated deejay and his family with their financial expenses.
Admission is JM$1,000.
