Veteran producer Swizz Beatz and rapper Cassidy have reportedly been hit with a $1.5 million lawsuit over unpaid royalties related to their 2007 hit, “My Drink & My 2-Step.”
Swizz is facing a $1.5 million dollar lawsuit from Antwann Frost, a songwriter claiming to have helped Swizz create rapper Cassidy’s hit single “My Drink and My 2 Step.” According to the lawsuit, the only thing Swizz Beatz did regarding the production of the song was assemble the “drum patterns” while Frost created “all of the other original musical components that shaped and defined” the song.
At the time that song was released, the man says he rejected an offer made by Swizz for $5,000 along with, 5% ownership, while Cas and the Bronx-bred producer received the rest of the profits. Swizz has yet to comment on the suit, as he seems to have more on his mind.
