Jamaican Shereen Sterling Cops Miss Global Title

Miss Jamaica, Shereen Sterling cops this year Miss Global International title in a hotly contested pageant.

The pageant which has been hosting in Jamaica since 2005, with the exception of 2008, saw Miss Venezuela Maria Figuera, sealing first runner-up, while Miss Malaysia, Marlene Lim, finished in third.

Other winners include Miss Malaysia, Marlene Lim Most Congenial, Miss Guyana, Renee Chester as Most Talented, while Best Costume went to Miss Zambia, Nakabinga Katandual.

Delegates from twenty countries was present from Bahamas, Guyana, Republic of Cape Verde, Belgium, Malaysia, Haiti, Mexico, USA, Canada, Guadeloupe, US Virgin Islands, St Kitts and Nevis, United Kingdom, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Liberia, Zambia, Nigeria and Jamaica.

Miss Bahamas, Valdeana Bain; Miss Malaysia, Marlene Lim; Miss Nevis, Trevicia Adams; Miss Venezuela; Maria Figuera, and Miss Jamaica, Shereen Sterling all made it to the top five, where Jamaica inched out Miss Venezuela Maria Figuera.

Shereen won for herself a cash prize, vacation at an all-inclusive resort, a Blackberry phone, a trophy, among other prizes.
