The rumor mill has been in full swing since Monday that L.A. Reid of Island Def Jam was fired from the board of execs with immediate effect.
Reid, who was responsible for signing Mariah Carey, Pink, Justin Bieber, Avril Lavigne, Toni Braxton, TLC, Usher, Ciara, and OutKast, copped his walking papers on Monday.
But according to a Rep at the label, Reid has not been let go from Island Def Jam.
Rumors have been spreading all day on the Internet that Island Def Jam CEO, Antonio “L.A.” Reid, has been fired from his position at the historic label. XXLMag.com spoke to a rep for parent company Universal Music Group, who says the gossip is false. “[The rumors] are completely untrue and without merit,” the spokesman told XXL this afternoon over the phone.
