Bermuda Underground Music Awards Promoting Peace In The Island

Urban Islandz unlike most other entertainment blogs always make it a point of our duty to highlight positive aspects of Caribbean music. Like most Caribbean islands, Bermuda has its fair share of crime and violence. In recent years the tiny island has seen a steady increase in its crime rate. But one local music organization is helping to spread the word of peace among local youths who commits a vast majority of crimes on the island.

The Underground Music Awards teamed up with young entrepreneur charity Youth on the Move to spread “Peace” at this years annual Underground music awards. Now in its sixth year, the urban music showdown has always tried to incorporate different elements into the awards and this year organizer Jonathan (JT) Talbot believes promoting an anti-violence message was top priority.

Word coming out of Bermuda is the Awards went well and the message of peace was well received.
