Drake is bringing the Millennium Tour to OVO Fest.
The Toronto rapper announced the details for his ninth annual Toronto music festival on his Instagram page early Thursday morning. The lineup includes the acts from the “Millennium Tour” including B2K, Mario, Pretty Ricky, Lloyd, Ying Yang Twins, Chingy and Bobby V. The weekend kicks off July 29 with the OVO Bounce which will be held until August 2. Additionally, the OVO Summit will take place on August 1-2. There is also a good chance that Drake will bring out his dancehall comrade Popcaan as a surprised guest.
That all leads up to Sunday’s concert that will be reminiscent of the Millennium Tour that grossed a total of $5 million for headliners B2K, according to Billboard, after hitting the road for a little over two months.
It will be interesting to see if all of the B2K band members are in attendance after the recent drama making headlines between lead singer Omarion and Love and Hip-Hop Hollywood star Lil Fizz. It has been reported that Lil Fizz is dating Omarion’s baby mother of two children Apryl Jones who all but confirmed it in her social media posts, one of which Lil Fizz is seen laying in bed with her. Maybe the two will put their differences aside to grace the stage in Toronto.
The grand finale of the weekend, of course, will be headlined by Aubrey himself on August 5. Drake has also used his Instagram to hint that he is in the studio working on a new album, so it will be interesting to see if it drops before the festival.
He released two songs last month after the Toronto Raptors won the NBA Championship, Omerta, and Money in the Grave featuring Rick Ross.
Tickets go on sale Friday, July 12. On Wednesday, Rolling Stone reported that Drake earned the top spot on the magazine’s Artists 500 Chart pulling in 110.8 million song streams for the week June 28-July 4.
