DDG says he bought a half a million dollar supercar for his his son Halo’s first birthday, even though he won’t be able to drive it for another seventeen years.
Some fans are openly expressing their concerns for the baby boy, hoping that he received some actual toys fitting for his age for his birthday. However, DDG and Halle Bailey celebrated their son’s first birthday separately before reuniting for his party after their breakup a few months ago and are now focusing on co-parenting.
“365 days ago my baby came can’t believe he’s 1,” the rapper wrote. “THE BEST BABY IN THE WORLD JUST TURNED 1. HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY TO MY 1ST BORN.”
DDG later shared a video of himself, Halo, and Halle Bailey, unveiling a red Ferrari he said that he bought for his son. “Look what I bought Halo for his 1st birthday [crying and heart emojis],” he captioned the clip. The video shows the parents hopping in the supercar with the rapper in the drivers seat and the toddler on his lap, as family and friends looks on.
Some fans are now accusing DDG of using his son’s birthday as an excuse to buy himself a half-a-million-dollar car. Others expressed their hopes that the baby boy received toys he could play with for his birthday. “I never knew how corny cringe this man was until recently, I hope that baby gets actual toys he can play with man,” one fan wrote. Another person added, “All that baby wanted was a cocomelon ball smh. I thought they meant a toy car… so basically he got his self a car.”
Aventer shared her experience with her baby, who got a Ferrari gift when she was six months old. “Lolol Well, my baby got a Ferrari walker for her half birthday! But dats it! And her aunt bought it, not us! Whew! Ummm He would’ve loved that money for the vehicle he can’t drive for 14 and half years as an investment but that’s that man’s child so I am just going to mind my own,” she wrote.
DDG and Halle Bailey called it quits in October, ten months after welcoming their baby boy Halo. The couple have been spotted together a few times since then, but there are no clear signs a reunion is in their future as they focus on their individual careers and co-parenting.
