PARTYNEXTDOOR Drops 2 New Songs “The News” & “Loyal” Feat. Drake

PARTYNEXTDOOR drops two new singles, “The News” and “Loyal” featuring Drake, on Friday.

It’s been two years since the Canadian rapper released new music, but the wait is now over! The last sampling we had from the party man was his EP Seven Days which he released in September 2017 and featured Rick Ross and Halsey on two of the seven tracks. Although we aren’t getting a full EP or album (just yet anyway), PARTYNEXTDOOR has released two new singles. The first, entitled “The News,” is a slow, rhythmic offering that makes you want to sidle up to someone you have your eye on at the moment. Earlier this week, the Canadian singer/rapper sent his fans into a frenzy when he hinted that new music is coming on Friday.

“What’s news to you, it ain’t news to me,” he croons, before the pre-chorus states, “Do you deserve me? No way / But can I let you go to anybody / Never in a million (lifetimes).”

The second offering from PND sees him collaborating with an old friend — Drake. PND was the first artist signed to Drizzy’s record label, OVO Sound, in 2013, and the pair have previously collaborated on “Own It,” “Come Thru,” “Come and See Me,” and “Recognize” which made it onto the Billboard charts.

“Loyal” has an island-feel and we’re already sure it’s going to be a hit in the clubs. “All the way ’round, I’m loyal / I got money on me and I’m loyal / Pain goes away when I’m tipsy / Pain goes away when you’re with me / Even when your troubles all look risky / It’s all under control,” PND sings before Drake joins in on the second verse.

As for when we can expect that long-awaited third studio album? “I’m taking my time with this album, It’s straight party & unapologetic,” he tweeted two years ago.

Let’s hope that the release of these songs signals something bigger is coming.
