Drake surprised Nigerian superfan David Jagun with a personal invite to his next concert. The Canadian rapper posted a video on Instagram earlier today, of the fan rapping one of his songs captioned “Nah @davidjagun I am flying you to a show ASAP you going 2 hard.”
Some fans were glad to see that Drake finally took notice of David, who is a long-time fan of the OVO rapper. If you scroll back on David’s timeline on Instagram, you’ll find more videos of him performing some of Drake’s most popular hits. One user commented on Drake’s post after reviewing David’s timeline and said, “Literally every post has a song by you! That’s dope! Congratulations David.” Another user wrote, “Dedication leads to success. This dope bro.”
In other news, Drake recently campaigned to have the crime drama “Top Boy” return for a third season years post its network cancellation. Star of the TV series, Ashley Walters detailed Drake’s involvement in reviving the show for season 3 which is currently available on Netflix. It’s no surprise that Drake became fond of the series which is set in London and Jamaica. The rapper recently posted a photo to Instagram, which he captioned “Top Boy.”
According to Ashley, the show was added to Netflix’s library a couple years after the network canceled it. “And then Drake watched it, which was weird, and we woke up one day, saw all this press over it – he’d posted,” Walters stated, “He had a picture of me and said, ‘When’s the show coming back?’ and I said it’s been canceled and he said, ‘Well, we’ll see about that’… Cut to about a year and a half later and he came back to the table with a deal and that was it, we went from there.”
Drake’s out here discovering greatness everywhere and playing a part in making sure it’s recognized. Who can be mad at that?
