Roddy Rich might be next in line on the list of up and coming artists that have teamed up with Drake.
Aubrey is known for having a good eye for new talent, and it looks like he has his sights on young west coast rapper Roddy Ricch. Roddy tweeted over the weekend that he had just had a phone conversation with the Canadian superstar, and it was lit. The Compton rapper, who gained notoriety from his affiliation with Meek Mill and the late Nipsey Hussle, was featured on the 2019 XXL Freshman Class cover, alongside names like Megan Thee Stallion, Da Baby, Gunna, and Blueface.
It’s not clear what came out of the conversation with Drizzy, but with Drake’s track record with young artists, fans began to speculate that there may be new music from the two on its way.
Roddy Ricch, a 20-year-old Compton, CA native, is signed to Atlantic records. In November 2017 he released his first mixtape Feed the Streets followed by an EP in March 2018 titled “Be 4 The Fame.” Both projects caught the attention of fellow west coast native Nipsey Hussle who brought Ricch out as his guest during a Powerhouse concert in LA. Meek Mill also brought Ricch out during his Powerhouse performance in Philly last October.
In November 2018, Roddy dropped Feed the Streets II, so it looks like he may be due for some new music pretty soon.
