Floyd Lloyd Dead

Reggae Ska legend Floyd Lloyd has died.

Floyd Lloyd, whose real name is Lloyd Seivright, passed away on Tuesday of an unknown illness. A rep for the singer told Urban Islandz that he has been sick for a while before passing away while undergoing treatment at the St. Ann’s Bay hospital. “He was sick for a while but didn’t make it public so the news may come as a shock to his fans,” his representative said.

Other sources suggested that the singer was complaining about severe stomach pain before being rushed to the hospital. He died a short time later. Floyd Lloyd is best known for singles like “Mango Blues,” “Jah Jah Why,” “Soulful Lover Baby,” “Love Knows,” and “Sweet Lady” which appeared on his album Tear It Up: The SKA Album.

Floyd Lloyd was 70 at the time of his death.
