Kanye West says the followers and like counts meter on Twitter and Instagram is bad for our self-worth.

Kanye West took to his Twitter page to chided social media platforms for not giving users more control over their followers and like meters. Ye, who is on the verge of dropping his Yeezy white sneaker, says he wants to disable his followers and like meters, because it is negatively impacting his self-worth. The Chicago rapper may have a point since we are all able to disable comments on our posts, then we should be able to disable the like and followers counts as well.

“We should be able to participate in social media without having to show how many followers or likes we have,” Kanye tweeted before adding, “Just like how we can turn off the comments we should be able to turn off the display of followers. This has an intense negative impact on our self worth.”

Kanye West then shared a video of Denzel Washington talking about social media and his advice for young people in the age of social media.
