Juelz Santana Pleads Not Guilty, Drugs and Gun Found In His Bag

Juelz Santana pleaded not guilty to gun charges but remains behind bars.

The Dipset rapper, whose real name is LaRon James, turned himself into police on Monday after fleeing from the Newark airport when TSA found a handgun in his bags. Authorities found a .38-caliber handgun and some oxycodone pills inside his luggage and he didn’t have a prescription for the drug, TMZ reported. Santana pleaded not guilty when he appeared in court on Wednesday to answer to two gun charges and charge for drug possession.

Juelz Santana was about to board a flight over the weekend when security checked his bags and found the gun. He fled the scene leaving his two bags behind and no one heard from him until Monday when he turned himself into police.

He remains in jail while the case continues and his next court hearing is set for April 9th. The gun charge alone carries years in prison.
