August Alsina Is On Twitter Blasting Def Jam “Label Is TRASH”

August Alsina maybe soon hear from lawyers representing Def Jam Recordings.

The R&B singer took to Twitter on Monday to blast Def Jam while calling the label trash and saying that they are holding his music hostage and holding him hostage. The root of his grouse with the label seems to be about his long awaited new album which should serves as the followup to his 2015 LP This Thing Called Life. The 25-year-old singer seems highly frustrated with the label and even told his fans that he will instead drop some free music soon.

“I would love to put my album out but DEF JAM is holding it/me hostage because the system is not up & running until next year so they basically dont exist,” August Alsina said. “The label is just TRASH .. I will release free music soon but that has been the hold up. Tell Them to FREE ME & the Album.”

His statement is in response to a fan who asked him, “Ayo [August Alsina] where is the album at bro?! 2017 was a tuff year. I need some of your newest work, I’m goin threw a lot of sh*t.”
