Beyonce Debut “Freedom” Video In Support Of International Day Of The Girl

Who run the world. Beyonce premiered her new “Freedom” video in support of the International Day Of The Girl.

Beyonce has been quiet this year musically and during that time she welcomed a new baby with husband JAY-Z. But one thing never stopped for the famed pop star, that is her support for girls around the world, particularly those most vulnerable. The single “Freedom” is featured on his 2016 chart-topping album Lemonade. The single has been one of the standouts on the project from the start, and although it was released a year and a half ago, her fans are still bumping the project like it was released yesterday. A year in music these days is almost equivalent to five musical years a decade or two ago. So much music is being put out from artists and so much music is being consumed digitally.

Still, there are a handful of artists who manage to maintained longevity with their new releases including Rihanna and Beyonce. Yesterday, Urbanislandz.com reported that RiRi created history on the Billboard Dance Pop chart by becoming the first artist to have five number one songs in a single calendar year. Remember, it’s been almost two years since Rihanna released her last album ANTI. Not too many artists can still have that impact two years after dropping their last body of work.

Last month, Beyonce released a remix to J Balvin and Willy Williams single “Mi Gente” and this week the song shot to number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Next week it could overthrow Cardi B for the top spot, that is just the shared power of having Beyonce on a track. So when she lends her voice to a cause like the International Day Of Girl everyone is listening and taking note. Watch the video below.
