Vybz Kartel & Shenseea Loodi Controversy Was A Publicity Stunt

Vybz Kartel and Shenseea recent controversy over “Loodi” was one big publicity stunt, sources inside the Gaza said.

Since the controversy, both Vybz Kartel and Shenseea received a big boost in dancehall not just with “Loodi”, but also other solo songs released on both sides including Kartel’s recent collaboration with Masicka “Infrared.” We’re told that the controversy didn’t start out being a publicity stunt, but ended up like that after Gaza fans started to make more noise about Kartel not getting enough props from Shenseea and Romeich Records. “Things didn’t start out like that but the fans were making a lot of noise and when the original solo version drop it was the biggest topic in dancehall and that just turn up the views,” sources told DHH.

Sources also told us that Vybz Kartel wasn’t aware that the original solo version was uploaded to his YouTube channel until it was up. “He [Vybz Kartel] wasn’t upset about it or anything like that he just asked his team to take it down,” sources added. “The whole controversy clearly benefits both the boss and Shenseea, it’s a win win anyhow you take.” Since the controversy rears its head last month, “Loodi” has received an additional million views and is in heavy rotation in dancehall sessions and on radios.

Vybz Kartel has always been notorious for sparking controversy to keep himself relevant in dancehall, so there could be some truth to this. Share your thoughts in comments below.
