Rapper Ugly God is making his case to be including in the 2017 XXL Freshman Class.
Every year XXL mag publishes a list of new rappers who are creating a buzz. Last year we saw some notable names like Lil Uzi Vert, Dave East, Lil Yachty, 21 Savage, Desiigner and others making the list of top ten new rappers. For 2017 we could see some names like Ugly God, XXXTentacion, PnB Rock, Playboi Carti, and more.
The magazine is currently in the process of compiling the list for this year and Ugly God wants to make sure that his name is in the mix. “My biggest accomplishments in 2016 were being underground and still being underground and getting radio spins, still being underground and doing mainstream numbers,” he said in a video sent to XXL Mag. One of his biggest singles to date is “Water” which he said he recorded inside of his college dorm room.
Ugly God is a 20-year-old rapper from Houston who is currently enjoying some underground success with over 33 million streams on SoundCloud and another 15 million views on YouTube. Should he be including in the 2017 XXL Freshman Class? He is currently working on his debut album due sometime this year.
