Seems the good folks over at the MTV Video Music Awards have recognized Rihanna’s contribution to pop music over the last decade and has decided to fitted her with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award for her “decade-long impact on music, pop culture, fashion, film, and philanthropy.”
Rihanna is also one of the headlining acts who will perform at the VMAs on August 28 starting at 9 p.m. EST.
The “Work” singer reacted to the news on Twitter. “Honored to take the #VMAs stage as your video #VANGUARD award recipient LIVE from NYC on August 28!” she tweeted.
